#01 - Wolverine "Humerto Ramos style" bust

#1 Post by Das »

Hello,

This is the first kit I've painted, few years ago but I've just started to finally take pics of my work.

Painted using brushes and Tamiya acrylic.
Sculpted (1 part) by Mat "25logan" Scrivens.
Painted by me (Das).

Hope you'll like it. Comments are welcome!

That looks awesome.... And the fact that you used brushes with tamiya acrylic makes it that much better.... I love tamiya paints but can only get good results from an airbrush.... How in the world did you get those kind of results using a brush with tamiya paints?

As it was the first kit I've painted, it was a lot of experimentation for me. As an illustrator, I was used to paint on paper with a completely different kind of paint.
Here, I've used lot's of different kind of brushes depending of what kind of effect I was looking for.
Also, there's tons of very thin layers and dilution (or sometime hard dry layer).

And, of course, I had lot of advice from great painters (including Duke, here).

I'm working hard on taking correct pics.
I'll get 3 or 4 more kits to show in the next few weeks, as soon as I'll be able to make another shooting session (just waiting to finish one last statue).
