The Blue Meanie

#1 Post by kevtk135 »

Talking with my son (he's 20) I mentioned the Yellow Submarine. Him: whats that? Me: You never saw Yellow Submarine? Him: Never heard of it.

So I got out some of my polymer clay (I'm not a great sculptor but no one told me to stop.... 😉 ) and started google searching. Coming across the Blue Meanie brought back memories of watching the movie + music, so away I went. Thanks for looking.

For the base, I was looking for a Peter Max style design. I thought this one was pretty good.

Cool looking piece.
I've never seen the movie so I don't know how accurate it is.

It's a great film. The blu ray is one of the sharpest looking cartoons I've ever seen - you can see the edge shadows from the overlapping cels. And the sound is, well, The Beatles and kicks butt.

And I want a Blue Meanie model!

Thanks guys. It was fun to watch the movie again, and to clay up the meanie.
And no, he hasn't seen it yet. He's only 20 so as a former teenager he still
thinks that any movie Dad brings up just can't be cool... He'll see...

You too? LOL It's something you'd definitely expect from the psychedelic 60's cartoon... :rollin: :smokin:
