What did you buy this year?

#1 Post by tay666 »

I spent a bit more than I should have, but I regret nothing.

That looks like a lot of Mike Parks' pieces? If so - are there ANY you have left to get to complete your "set"?

Are they re-releases or 2nd hand from someone selling off part of their collection?

Regardless - congrats - I know how much you like those.

Terry Webb brought a bunch of stuff that was left laying around. Mike's widdow had some time to dig through all the stuff that was already cast wehn Mike passed away.

I just went back this morning and found 3 more. Still need 4 more to have all the ones I know of.

The sources (especially Danya) make these even more special. Great to hear!

Hope you told them which 4 you are still missing (and post them here or wherever to increase your chances).

Nice (happy for you).

VERY NICE!! Like the Gigan - even with that and Big G's head, the stuff you got won't take up much storage room!

Are the little guys also Mike Parks' "Tiny Terrors"??? :-k How many do you still need? :alcoholic:

P.S. Safe travels to home!!!

Not a big haul this year but did get a grail kit: Molemento’s “The Bride of Kong” also got good deal on Nosferatu $20 and Godzilla $10. The Garage Originals custom base was a cool find too. I don’t know who the bust is but I got it for free.

Nice haul!

I am intrigued by that bust. 👀. It looks like it could be a Star wars character, holding a lightsaber. Or perhaps a character from Star Trek. 🤔

That face though, so well defined and well done, somehow looks familiar, but I can't place it. 🤨

Here is a link to a WF25 video at the moment this bust of (apparently) a Sith Lord appears. Don't have the maker or name of the character, but we are on the right trail!!!

Glad that Bride went to a good home. Saw that on Terry's table, but I had already spent a ton on Super Tiny Terrors so, didn't even consider the Bride.

It wasn’t cheap but I couldn’t pass it up. Terry did work a little deal on it which I appreciated.

My self discipline worked better this year than some other years I can think of, so I didn't come home with a lot. I picked up Iconic Scenes #5 from Shadow Kreations. A Dr. Deadly's Daughter from Danger Island Models and a 3D Printed kit called Barbarian Queen from Doghouse Studios.

1/5 scale “dog soldier” werewolf

Probably stands around 15 inches high when built. Included a pic with my hand to help show scale.

This is one of the rare cases where I look at a kit and say it is perfect as is, no need for any mods (except maybe add glass eyes) .

Wish I could say that.
This was the most I have ever spent at the show in all my years going. It was actually two to three times as much as I normally spend.
I chalk it up to YOLO and FOMO, or just the rational fear of getting what I want before it is gone for good. With George announcing his upcoming retirement, I had to get the kits from Blackheart that I've been holding off on.
And then Terry showing up with all the Mike Parks goodies. Not going to find those kits at those prices ever again. $20 is cheap. But when multiplied by 17 kits, it adds up fast. :o
Those are the two tables that really blew my budget this year.
