Thanks Vlad. I really do need to get back to working the gryphon and dragon bash. Hopefully soon.

Getting ready to detail the spikes and teeth.
I like lots of spikes on my creatures, but they sure are a pain in the butt to detail as I paint each one with 3 different colors. Ugh

Pro tip: Have some interesting podcasts playing in the background as you do the tedious detailing. :thumb2:

Working on making the underbody and under arms lighter in color to add some contrast and make paint scheme less monochromatic

Blending is coming along nicely ... I could say something about the frequency of your updates, but then I start counting the weeks since I had a chance to do any modeling work in my garage studio ... and I think again ... :rolf:

Man I tell you, work just sucks. It sucks when there is no work because ... "No Monye"* :mrgreen:

And, it sucks when there is work because ... "No Modeling" :rollin:

*None of you will recognize this reference because its from a 90-year old movie when two characters speaking in Russian accents confuse the terms "Pheumonia" with the other big problem of the day, namely - "No Monye" (-$$$) - anyway, just trust me, it was hilarious!! :mrgreen2:

Oh ... WTH ... here is a link ... its from 1934's "Wonder Bar" starring Al Jolson. In this skit Jolson, as proprietor of the "Wonder Bar" greets an old Russian Count and linguistic mayhem follows ... then he sings the Russian Classic "Dark Eyes". A priceless example of rapid-fire vaudeville-era comedy!

Curious to see what detailing you execute on this.
It's looking good. With a bit of highlighting and accenting it should look fantastic!

I just plan to do a little more dry brushing on the mane, teeth and spikes ; detail eyes and make the mouth wet looking .

I am open to suggestions for additional details ?

When you say spikes does that include the claws?
That was the first thing that jumped out at me, that they kind of look like the flesh color. Not so much on the hands, but on the feet.
The other stuff you already covered.

Also, just realized I forgot to mention how much I love the color gradient on the flesh. Especially the arms. Dark on top fading to a lighter yellow-ish underside.
Looks so natural and real.

Awesome Joe!!

1. Love the intricate and subtle changes of hue/highlighting throughout the Beast;
2. LOVE the green eyes - gives it a real menacing vibe; ditto with the lathering mouths;
3. The base is not only fantastic in terms of shading and moss - but the COLOR is a PERFECT offset to the Beast and helps it to stand out.

Overall - an A+!!! :D

I agree on the green eyes.
I also really love the red in the mane.
I've already mentioned the shading and color gradients before.

Looking forward to seeing it in person next year.

Thank you Trevor!
I am pretty happy with this paint job as the color fading came out exactly how I envisioned it - for once !

As I told Vlad , I sincerely appreciate your frequent and very helpful feedback and suggestions .

It feels good to actually have at least one kit completed for next Wonderfest.
