The Thing's MacReady

#1 Post by kevtk135 »

Talk about a blast from the past. This is another that has been on my shelf since 2012! Sculpted by Chris Elizardo, and produced by "Teddy Novak". It came as a one piece bust approx 1:4 scale. With no eyes, It was also another easy one to do.

Using the following image, I matched up the colors the best I could.

First step, as usual was to get the base colors down -

A few days later, I was able to get another session in and get the bust finished. I was thinking about added the snow and what not, but decided to keep it simple. Thanks for looking.

Well done - esp. the worn leather.

Any kit of Macready that adds the his Urban Sombrero is awesome in my book and Chris really nailed this one. As did you, really great work of having all those browns and making them all look different.

Thanks all!

Tim: I thank Vallejo's wide range of colors for that. Yep, each one is a different color. The only unifying color is the sweatshirt is the same color as part of the ice base.

Just stumbled on this, superb result Kev and a brilliant subject, such a classic character and an awesome film to boot.
I use the Vallejo brand as well, they are excellent paints for sure.

Thanks, Paul.
Agreed. I like Vallejo so much, all my other paints got put in a drawer and eventually tossed out.
