Lon of a Thousand Faces bust

#1 Post by derekc62 »

I bought this back in 2017 at JerseyFest but then it sat around the bench until I finally got around to it in May.

This 1/4 scale bust is sculpted by Daniele Danko Angellozi and produced by Saul Alvarez's Silver Screen Icons.

The figure of Lon Chaney is pretty straight forward as was the base, but the make-up kit took most of my time. I went with a graded grey-scale look for the name plate to invoke the silver screen images of the silent era.

Very nice work, Derek! Particularly the detailing of the makeup case and its contents.

Very cool.

That's a belter, a superb portrait on the figure, but the attention to the details and subtle colours in the make up box is off the charts!
Cheers,

Thanks very much everyone.

It's the little things that I like about this kit, like the fluid in the bottle, the spools of thread, the pin cushion (with brass pins from my ship modeling days), the fake eyes in their cases...

This was a long time coming and I'm happy I finally finished it.
