The Monster's Bride X 2 Black Heart

#1 Post by GMcKellar »

Just finished these. Yeah, they both look alike, hence the twins. But, you gotta give em' what they ask for. I love painting this piece but it sure seems to take me forever.
Done in acrylics, oils and pastels. Need photography lessons and better lighting equipment.
Thanks for looking.

Sensational! The subtle mottling of her flesh is superb. Her eyes, and around them, is exceptionally well painted and I like the soft blending from flesh into the hair - and what a glorious hair colour it is. Exquisite stitching. Gorgeous lips.

I really like the texture and colour of the bandaged hand/s on the soft white of the dress.

They're sheer perfection. Well done!

They both look fantastic! I just finished this one myself, and I can relate to the time consumption on this piece!

So Beautiful!
The question is not so much where we are as when we are.

Wow and WOW! Exceptionally well done Greg! I love how you handled the bandages on the hand to make it different from her "gown". The flesh is rendered really well were she doesn't look like a glamour model nor does she look like a hideous creature, well balanced. Nice job.

It's crazy how much a GREAT paint job adds to a piece like this!

I love your work ... I have the same piece, hope I can do it as good as yours. I've decided to get the Frankenstein monster wall hanger too, and display them side by side. I'm going to make a distressed wooden tongue and grove shelf and back board, stained with a very dark stain, to hang the monster on and have her sitting on the shelf next to him. I think that would be really effective and dramatic.

I'm not really sure why you did two of these, exactly the same, your skills are masterful, maybe they'll show them in two separate locations.

Come over to www.themadmonstermaker.com and see the wonderful pieces of art I have. It doesn't take a penny to look and enjoy, and who knows ... You might fight something that suited just for you.

Rich, thank you for the kind words. I did these similar for clients that wanted me to duplicate my original version, somewhere here on the forum. I am very interested to see your wall treatment. I have a Monster wall hanger and would like to display them together with a movie poster. Please post here when you get it completed. I could use the inspiration.
Cheers
