Here's my version of a very cool sculpt by Grits Sada called Alien Abduction. This kit received some love in a recent AFM where Davide Decina took us step-by-step through his awesome version. I tried / created a new technique for me anyway in making the splashing white water. I have seen where people use cotton to simulate white caps on the ocean, but I'd never seen anyone try it for close up splashes. So, I started w/ some cotton batting and completely covered it in Vallejo Acrylic Water Texture. Then I started pulling / tearing at the batting to create a mesh of wave shapes. I kept it thicker at the base and more and more sparse towards the tops. As it dried it also became stiff but still pliable. I would bend and shape it to be more and more wavelike over about 5 applications of the water texture. I used a variety of adhesives to glue it to the base and once in place, I hit some of the high points with white paint to make it pop. I also poured a thin coat of clear resin over most of the figure to give it that wet look all over.
I hope you will all like my rendition. As always, it was hand-painted using acrylics and inks. If you'd like to see more images, please visit my website at: http://sivousplay.net/html/alienabduction.html
Fabulous rendition and execution - totally sick subject, unfortunately.
Most abduction from extra-terrestrial forms are done through the mind or soul of the host (Head of States, Bankers, High military brass). It is a lot easier this way and the host can be re-used multiple times, instead of being wasted for a one time lunch.
I wish your fantastic artistic skills and tastes could be focused on more beautiful and enlightening themes. How about those Japanese sculptures that you presented to us once?

Thanks everyone. I know the topic may not be for everyone, but there was something about the dynamic nature of the sculpt that really attracted me to it.
Sensational! As you say, there's just something about the figure that tugs at the brain. Love the wet effect. The painting on the creature is superb too.
An outstanding build, Jim
