Alien Abduction (nudity)

Here's my version of a very cool sculpt by Grits Sada called Alien Abduction. This kit received some love in a recent AFM where Davide Decina took us step-by-step through his awesome version. I tried / created a new technique for me anyway in making the splashing white water. I have seen where people use cotton to simulate white caps on the ocean, but I'd never seen anyone try it for close up splashes. So, I started w/ some cotton batting and completely covered it in Vallejo Acrylic Water Texture. Then I started pulling / tearing at the batting to create a mesh of wave shapes. I kept it thicker at the base and more and more sparse towards the tops. As it dried it also became stiff but still pliable. I would bend and shape it to be more and more wavelike over about 5 applications of the water texture. I used a variety of adhesives to glue it to the base and once in place, I hit some of the high points with white paint to make it pop. I also poured a thin coat of clear resin over most of the figure to give it that wet look all over.
I hope you will all like my rendition. As always, it was hand-painted using acrylics and inks. If you'd like to see more images, please visit my website at: http://sivousplay.net/html/alienabduction.html
